I I I 134 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JUNE 4, 1979 Present: Mayor John A. Hansen Council Members Ted Breihan Robert L. Cavazos Bob Hyatt Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton Gilbert Tenorio City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director of Public Works Director of Finance Director of Community Services Director of Public Safety Royal Dunlap Doriss Hainbrick Barbara Jean Edwards Ray Kotowski Earl T. Williams Albert Sierra Robert Minnie Also Present: Jeff Watkins, Lannie Griffith, Gordon Thompson, Jerri."Martin, Kaye Kotowski, Erica Martin, Harvey Miller, JI,ack Byrom, Robbie Robin, Joe Cliett, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Hansen issued a proclamation in observance of the Junteenth celebration. Mr. Cavazos moved the minutes of the regular meeting be held Monday, May 29, 1979 be approved. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion. The City Secretary pointed out several errors on Page 3 of those minutes which referred to a lot behind the City Hall Building as being annexed. The proper term should have been annex. Mr. Cavazos amended his motion to provide for the correction with the consent of Mr. Hyatt. On roll call, the motion to approve the minutes was unanimously adopted " An ordinance having the following caption was read in its entirety: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 167.03 ACRES LOCATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.. Mr. Cavazos moved the ordinance be approved on first reading.. Mr. James, seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CLOSING, VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF GRACE STREET IN THE ROSE HILL ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; PRO- VIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. James seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Hyatt, Hansen, James, Sutton, Breihan NAY: Tenorio, Cavazos.
