<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, july 3, 1978 <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The Mayor next introduced for discussion a request to vacate <br />a portion of Benefit Street between Bishop and an alley. <br />Council discussed the request and agreed the street could not <br />be considered for abandonment until more of the area had been <br />developed. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for discussion a request to vacate a 15 <br />foot wide alley between Lots 2 and 3 and 10 and 9, Block 4 of <br />the Cedar Plateau Addition, between Brown and Benefit Streets. <br />Mr. J. B. Roberts came before the Council arid stated his con- <br />cern about closing the alley. He would like to make a guest <br />house or' would like to store his boat in that area. Mr. S. V. <br />Williamson was present to state that he would like to put a <br />fence to divide the houses. No action was taken by the Council. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for discussion the review process on <br />amendments to the subdivision ordinance. Mr. Hyatt moved a <br />committee be appointed to advise with the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission composed of seven members; each Council Member <br />appointing one member. This committee has no authoritive ~ <br />powers. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion."hieh l'asoed Ca# <br />unaRim8~sly. Mr. Breihan questioned the type of machine. <br />Mr. Hansen moved the Did on the pneumatic tamper be tabled until <br />further information on the pneumatic tamper could be given. <br />Mr. Breihan seconded the motion. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced oids received on pick~up trucks. The City <br />Manager reported that the only bidder could not locate the 1978 <br />models bid, that the company bid 1979 models at a 5% increase <br />over 1978 prices, and that the Council might want to consider <br />rebidding the equipment. Mr. Cavazos moved the bids be rejected. <br />Mr. Sutton seconded the motion. On roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Hansen, Cavazos, Sutton <br />Hyatt, James, Arredondo, Breihan <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the item be tabled for one week. <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt <br /> <br />The Mayor ~ntroduced for consideration the Council sub-committee <br />report on City-County relations. Mr. Cavazos stated that the <br />County Commissioners and the Council should meet soon s'o some <br />action could be taken before July 17. The City Manager reported <br />that the County had agreed to pay $18,000 for the Fire Department <br />but had, as of today, paid only $6,80~ and $10,000 for th~ <br />Library and paid only $5,000. Mr. Hyatt moved the Council and <br />County Commissioners should meet soon.
