<br />6 <br /> <br />regular meeting, july 10, 1978 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF <br />BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND ~AND, DATED MAY 23, <br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT <br />I, BLOCK 1 OF THE J. H. COMBS ADDITION, LOCAT- <br />ED AT THE INTERSECTION OF BISHOP AND HOPKINS <br />STREETS, FROM "p" (PUBLIC) TO "M" (MIXED). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be approved on second reading, <br />Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration confirmation of a <br />resolution adopted July 3, 1978 relating to"the extension <br />of utilities to the San Marcos Industrial Foundation property. <br />The Council considered two drafts of the resolution. The first, <br />identified as "Resolution A" stipulated that the subject property <br />would be annexed by the City within seven years from the date <br />utilities were extended. "Resolution B" stated the property <br />would be annexed, but gave no time period. The City Manager <br />expressed his concern that prospective industries might think <br />the Council meant to wait seven years to annex the property, <br />wfteh'in<fact, under the terms of the resolution the Council <br />could annex the property at any time. Mr. Webster said he <br />felt the reference to seven years to be misleading. Mr. Hyatt <br />moved Resolution A be confirmed and ratified. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Sutton, Breihan, Hansen, Cavazos, <br />Hyatt <br />James <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the City's position <br />on improvements to Redwood Road to be constructed by the <br />Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation. <br />Mayor Cavazos informed the public and Council Members that <br />the public hearing concerning the Redwood Road would be <br />Thursday night at the High School. No action was taken <br />by Council. <br /> <br />The Mayor next introduced for discussion procedure for <br />developing specifications for City equipment and vehicles. <br />Mr. Wayne Kemp, Shop Superintendent, was present to answer <br />any questions the Council might have, along with Kathy <br />Weber, Purchasing Agent. No action was taken. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for re-consideration bids received on <br />pickup trucks. Mr. Breihan moved the bids be cancelled and <br />the pickups rebid. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor stated the sub-committee and the Commissioners <br />Court were to meet on Monday, July 17, 1978 at 8:00 a.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Cavazos invited the public and Council Members to a <br />Charter Review Commission meeting July II, at 7:30 p.m, <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. on motion of Mr. Cavazos <br />and second of Mr. Hyatt. <br />
