I I I 11 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JULY 17, 1978 Present: Mayor Robert L. Cavazos Mayor Fro Tern Bob Hyatt Council Membey.s Frank T. Arredondo Ted Breihan John A. Hansen Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton City Manager City Attorney City Secretary Director, Public Works C. J. hlebster Charles E. Evans Doriss Hambrick Ray Kotowski Also Present: John McCrocklin, Jerri Martin, Frank Contreras, Judy Brackett, Alan King, Bill Cunningham, Gary Bond, Jeff Ebner, and others. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tern Bob Hyatt in the temporary absence of Mayor Cavazos. The minutes of the regular meeting held July 10, 1978 were approved on motion of Mr. Breihan and second of Mr. Hansen with Mr. Arredondo abstaining from the vote due to his absence from the meeting. Mr. James moved to appoint Mr. Bill Cunningham to a vacancy on the Library Board created by the resignation of Mrs. Mary Etheredge. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Hansen moved to appoint the following members to a subdivision review committee: Mr. T. S. Lighthouse, Mr. Ruben Ruiz, Jr., Mr. Handler Smith, Mr. Jack Cates, Mr. B. F. Davidson, Mr. Milton Vaverek and Mr. John McCrocklin. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Hyatt suggested that the committee hold its first meeting in conjunction with the Planning and Zoning Commission next Tuesday night. Mr. Breihan was assured by the Staff that information had been prepared to bring the subdivision review committee up-to-date on the subdivision ordinance. Mr. Arredondo moved to reappoint Mr. Frank Contreras, Dr. William Crook and Mr. Don Hyder to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. Hyatt read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY or SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU- LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 1, BLOCK 1 OF THE J. H. COMBS ADDITION, LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF"BISHOP AND HOPKINS STREETS, FROM "P" (PUBLIC) TO "M" (MIXED). Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. At 7:38 p.m., the meeting was recessed into executive session to discuss personnel matters on motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Sutton.
