I I I 103 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, NOVEMBER 13, 1978 Present: Mayor Robert L. Cavazos Council Members Frank T. Arredondo Ted Breihan John A. Hansen Bob Hyatt Berry R. James Kenneth E. Sutton Acting City Manager City Secretary Ci ty Attorney Director of Public Works Assistant to the City Manager Albert Sierra Doriss Hambrick Charles E. Evans Ray Kotowski Jake Krauskopf Also Present: Judy Brackett, Homer Hamilton, Jr., Terry Roberts, James Judson, Alan King, Rod Gilmore, Gilbert Tenorio, John Conner, Barbara Schroeder, Kenneth Swain, John Stokes, C. E. O'Bryant, Gordon Thompson, Jack Major, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Mr. James moved to recess to executive session to discuss personnel matters. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The meeting reconvened at 7:30 p.m. on motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Arredondo. Mr. Cavazos reported that the Council had interviewed a candidate for the position of City Manager and would continue the executive session later in the meeting. The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, November 6, 1978 were approved on motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Hyatt. The minutes of the special meeting held Thursday, November 9 were approved on motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Breihan. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU- LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PARTS OF LOTS 22, 23, 24 AND 25 OF THE CHARLES MEINERS ADDITION, LOCATED AT 1503 LOOP 82, FROM "C" (CO~1MERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). Mrs. Barbara Schroeder was present to request the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. The City Attorney explained that the earlier question of adjacent property being used for church purposes was irrelevant at this point since it should be cons~dered more properly when the permit application is filed for an alcoholic beverage permit. Mr. Evans said the question had no bearing on the zoning change. Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU- LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 133 THROUGH 156 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION, TWO BLOCKS BOUNDED BY EARLE, DARTMOUTH, COLUMBIA AND HAZELTON STREETS, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAl-IILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R- 2" (DUPLEX).
