Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore. <br /> <br />The recommendation is to delete the provision providing <br /> <br />for the election of the Mayor by members of the Council. <br /> <br />This has already been discussed in Item 1 and covered in <br /> <br />that ballot proposition. The section is further amended <br /> <br />by adding the provision that the Mayor shall have the duty <br /> <br />to act as principal liaison between Council Members and <br /> <br />the C~ty Manager and removing the phrase which provides <br />that the Mayor shall have no regular administrative duties. <br /> <br />Proposition Wording: <br /> <br />Amend Section 3.05 to require the ~!ayor to act as principal <br />liaison between Council Members and the City Manager, and <br />delete the provision that the Mayor shall have no regular <br />administrative duties. <br /> <br />D. Section 5.04. The Official Ballot. <br /> <br />The recommendation is to provide an exception to the <br />prohibition of incumbents filing for another place fh4~ <br /> <br />that to which they were originally elected so as to allow <br /> <br />incumbent Council Members to file for place of Mayor. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Proposition Wording: <br /> <br />Amend Section 5.04 to allow incumbent Council ~lembers to <br />file for the place of Mayor instead of the place for which <br />they were originally elected. <br /> <br />II.
