<br />124 <br /> <br />regular meeting, december 4, 1978 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Mayor Cavazos read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />FURTHER EXTENDING THE SUSPENSION OF <br />THE OPERATION OF PROPOSED NATURAL GAS <br />UTILITY RATE SCHEDULES FILED BY <br />ENTEX, INC., FOR AN ADDITIONAL PERIOD <br />OF THIRTY (30) DAYS BEYOND THE <br />ORIGINAL SUSPENSION OF ONE HUNDRED <br />TWENTY (120) DAYS BEYOND AUGUST 18, <br />1978, THE DATE ON WHICH SAID SCHEDULES <br />WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE GONE INTO EFFECT. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Alvin Langhamer and Mr. Harry Overstreet were present <br />to represent Entex, Inc. Mr. Overstreet, questioned by <br />Mr. Sutton, informed the Council that Entex did not intend <br />to exercise their option of putting new rates into effect <br />under bond, but would wait for Council action before <br />instituting the new rates. Mr. Arredondo moved the <br />resolution be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tern read an ordinance in its entirety having <br />the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMEND- <br />ING CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br />ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", BY DELETING FOUR <br />LOCATIONS FROM SECTION 29-122, ENTITLED <br />"STOP SIGNS", OF ARTICLE V, ENTITLED <br />"TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES", OF SAID <br />CHAPTER; BY ADDING TO SECTION 29-122, <br />ENTITLED "STOP SIGNS", OF THE AFORESAID <br />ARTICLE AND CHAPTER, NINE LOCATIONS FOR <br />STOP SIGNS; BY ADDING TO SECTION 29-121, <br />ENTITLED "YIELD SIGNS", OF THE AFORESAID <br />ARTICLE AND CHAPTER, FOUR LOCATIONS FOR <br />YIELD SIGNS; BY ADDING TO SECTION 29-123, <br />ENTITLED "NO PARKING ANYTIME", OF THE <br />AFORESAID ARTICLE AND CHAPTER, THREE <br />LOCATIONS TO BE DESIGNATED NO PARKING <br />ANYTIME ZONES, BY DELETING ONE LOCATION <br />FROM SECTION 29-123, ENTITLED "NO PARKING <br />ANYTIME" OF THE AFORESAID ARTICLE AND <br />CHAPTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan stated, regarding Section 2, the Intersection <br />Post Road and Aquarena Springs Road the direction of <br />approach should be South instead of North. He also requested <br />that Section 4 include a provision allowing only parallel <br />parking on Blanco Street during those hours when parking is <br />allowed. Mr. Sierra suggested that the parallel parking could <br />be handled administratively. Mr. James moved the ordinance <br />be adopted on emergency with the correction made to Section 2. <br />Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING FOR <br />PROSECUTION PURPOSES ONLY THOSE REGULA- <br />TIONS APPROVED BY ORDER OF THE BOARD OF <br />REGENTS PERTAINING TO TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />DEVICES AND WHICH DEFINE MOVING TRAFFIC <br />VIOLATIONS ON THE CAMPUS OF SOUTHWEST <br />TEXAS STATE UNIVERSITY; ESTABLISHING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~Iayor Cavazos read an ordinance in its entirety having the <br />following caption: <br />
