<br />19 <br /> <br />regular meeting, april 26, 1976 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a'Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, MR. JAMES B. BAUGH, OR HIS SUCCESSOR, <br />TO SUBMIT IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AN APPLICATION <br />FOR HOUSING AND NEIGHBORHOOD PRESERVATION GRANTS UNDER TITLE I OF <br />THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 IN THE AMOUllT OF <br />$125,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Arredondo seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration bids received for extension of <br />wastewater lines to the Hays County Civic Center. Mr. Hansen moved the contract <br />be awarded C.M. Construction Company of New Braunfels and a total amount authorized <br />of $62,149.17, including contingency funds. Mr. Arredondo seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Cavazos stated that he took exception to the fact that the city was extending <br />utilities to a facility that returned no taxes. On roll call, the following vote <br />yas recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Craddock, Hansen, Sutton, Arredondo <br />None <br />Cavazos, Breihan. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock moved to award a contract to Du-Mor Enterprises in an amount of <br />$406,275.01 for construction of improvements in the Wallace Addition, contingent <br />upon Department of Housing and Urban Development approval of the public facility <br />improvements in Wallace Addition contained in Community Development Action Year <br />Two application. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved a rear load packer garbage unit be purchased from Pak-Mor <br />Manufacturing in the amount of $3,990. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance, the caption of which is as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ENACTING A DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN; APPROVING A DEFFERED COM- <br />PENSATION PLAN SALARY REDUCTION AUTHORIZATION; ESTABLISHING A CLEAR- <br />ANCE PROCESS FOR AGENTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Arredondo <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Sutton advised the Mayor that the appointment of two <br />local citizens in the insurance business to act as, advisors would be helpful. <br />On roll call, the motion to approve the Ordinance on first reading passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9 45 p m on motlOn of Mr <br /> <br /> <br />~.
