regular meeting, june 28, 1976 page two 65 Mr. Arredondo moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. Mr. Sutton stated again his objection to the reference to September, 1973 contained in the exhibits to the Ordinance and requested the staff get legal counsel on the matter before the next reading of the Ordinance. On roll call, the motion to approve the Ordinance on second reading was unanimously approved. Mr. Bob Derrick of Forrest and Cotten, consulting engineers, came before the Council with a conceptual design of the extension of drainage from Sunset Acres Subdivision to Willow Creek. The improvements are in the form of storm sewer pipe to be laid from Broadway Street, along LH. 35, to Willow Creek. Mr. Derrick infonned the Council that the pipe would be laid in Texas Highway Department I right.-of-way, that he had discussed the matter with THD officials, and that ten- tative approval had been given. He reported that the preliminary estimate for the project was $489,000 which was also the amount budgeted in the Community Development Action Year Two budget. Mr. Breihan moved the engineers be authorized to proceed to the 60% planning stage. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which was unanimously "I,proved. Mr. Breihan requested that the Council discuss opening the landfill on weekends and trle use of city property for activities which could be held on civic center property at the next workshop.
