<br />regular meeting, june 28, 1976 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />65 <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Sutton stated again his objection to the reference <br />to September, 1973 contained in the exhibits to the Ordinance and requested the <br />staff get legal counsel on the matter before the next reading of the Ordinance. <br />On roll call, the motion to approve the Ordinance on second reading was unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Derrick of Forrest and Cotten, consulting engineers, came before the <br />Council with a conceptual design of the extension of drainage from Sunset Acres <br />Subdivision to Willow Creek. The improvements are in the form of storm sewer <br />pipe to be laid from Broadway Street, along LH. 35, to Willow Creek. Mr. Derrick <br />infonned the Council that the pipe would be laid in Texas Highway Department I <br />right.-of-way, that he had discussed the matter with THD officials, and that ten- <br />tative approval had been given. He reported that the preliminary estimate for <br />the project was $489,000 which was also the amount budgeted in the Community <br />Development Action Year Two budget. Mr. Breihan moved the engineers be authorized <br />to proceed to the 60% planning stage. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which was <br />unanimously "I,proved. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan requested that the Council discuss opening the landfill on weekends <br />and trle use of city property for activities which could be held on civic center <br />property at the next workshop. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. on <br /> <br />mo~ of 1-11'.
