<br />III <br /> <br />RESOLtJrION NO. 1978-35-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DECLARING THE <br />OFFICIAL RESULT OF AN ELECTION HELD ON THE <br />1ST DAY OF APRIL, 1978, IN SAID CITY FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING OFFICIALS, AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an election for the purpose of of electing the hereinafter <br />named officials of the City of San Marcos, Texas, was held in said <br />city on the 1st day of April, 1978; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears from the returns of the election, duly and legally <br />made, that there were cast at said election 2840 valid and legal votes; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it also appears from said returns that each of the candidates <br />in said election received the following votes: <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 4 <br /> <br />CANDIDATE <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER Of VOTES <br /> <br />Frank T. Arredondo <br /> <br />1881 <br /> <br />fOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 5 <br /> <br />William C. Nicola <br />Bob Hyatt <br /> <br />1263 <br />1322 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREfORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Part 1. That said election was duly called; that notice of said electio, <br />was given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in <br />accordance with law, and that Frank T. Arredondo was duly elected Counci <br />Member Place 4 at said election and that Bob Hyatt was duly elected <br />Council Member Place 5 at said election, and said above named parties <br />are hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to <br />the taking of their oaths. <br /> <br />Part 2. It is further found and determined that in accordance with the <br />order of this governing body the Secretary posted on the bulletin board <br />located in City Hall, a place convenient to the public, and said notice <br />having been posted and remaining continuously for at least three days <br />preceding the date of this meeting. A copy of the return of said postinl <br />shall be attached to the Minutes of this meeting and shall be made a par <br />thereof for all intents and purposes. <br /> <br />Part 3.
