Following the public hearing, Mr. Sutton moved to <br />authorize submission of the pre-application as prepared by the <br />Staff. Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved to authorize an increase in the salary of the <br />Alternate Municipal Court Judge from $100 per month to $300 per <br />month, effective immediately, as recommended by the Municipal <br />Court Judge. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, <br />,ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", BY DELETING THREE <br />LOCATIONS FROM SECTION 29-122, ENTITLED <br />"STOP SIGNS", OF ARTICLE V, ENTITLED <br />"TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES", OF SAID <br />CHAPTER; BY ADDING TO SECTION 29-121, <br />ENTITLED "YIELD SIGNS", OF THE AFORESAID <br />ARTICLE AND CHAPTER, TEN LOCATIONS FOR <br />YIELD SIGNS; BY ADDING TO SECTION 29-122, <br />ENTITLED'~STOP SIGNS", OF THE AFORESAID <br />ARTICLE AND', CHAPTER, FIVE LOCATIONS FOR <br />STOP SIGNS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE, <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final <br />reading. Mr. Jimes seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor re~d the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING <br />ACCEPTANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF UTILITIES <br />ON BARNES DRIVE IN SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; <br />AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT FOR THIS CON- <br />STRUCTION, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo moved the resolution be adopted. <br />the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />M'r. DRIVE <br />IN SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING FINAL <br />PAYMENT FOR THIS CONSTRUCTION AND ESTABLISH- <br />ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the resolution be adopted. <br />the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo seconded <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Staff recommendation for the acceptance of <br />a proposal by the Naylor Group of Pasadena, Texas for the conducting <br />of a sanitary sewer infiltration/inflow study. The City Manager <br />noted that the study was a requirement of the State Department of <br />Water Resources Enforcement Order. Mr. Sutton moved the proposal <br />be accepted. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to accept the bid of Du-Mor Enterprises for con- <br />struction of sludge drying beds at the Contact Stabilization Plant <br />in the amount of $31,980.50. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a discussion of the rates currently charged <br />for use of the San Marcos landfill. By common consent, the Council <br />directed the City Manager to meet with private users of the City <br />landfill to begin working out more equitable rates. <br />
