2 regular meeting, apri1 11, 1977 page two The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE WHICH PROVIDES FOR A BUILDING CODE TO GOVERN THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, EQUIPMENT, USE AND OCCUPANCY, AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES; BY DELETING IN THEIR ENTIRETY SECTION 4 PARAGRAPH 2 AND SECTION 4, PARAGRAPH 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE, SAID SECTION 4 PARAGRAPHS 2 AND 3 HAVING DESCRIBED A FIRE DISTRICT AND CALLED FOR A MAP DEPICTING SAID FIRE DISTRICT. the Ordinance be tabled. The City Manager reported that the staff had ascertained that deletion ed of the Fire District would not affect the city's key rate for insurance; however, 4/25/77 the individual insurance rates might be affected. Mr. Baugh told the Cauncil that ~ the staff would further research the question and have more definitive information for the Council at the next consideration of the Ordinance. The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. TEXAS, ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES AND APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS FOR A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION TO BE HELD APRIL 30, 1977 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A COUNCIL MEMBER FOR PLACE 2. I Mr. James moved the Resolution be amended to provide for Crockett Elementary School to be used as a polling place for precinct #30, and to defer appointment of a presiding judge for precinct #34, and to adopted the Resolution as amended. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock read the letter of resignation submitted by City Manager James B. Baugh. Er. Craddock moved the resignation, effective June 1, 1977, be accepted with regret. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Arredondo moved the Council schedule a Special Meeting for April 18 to hold an Executive Session to discuss personnel matters relating to the selection of an acting city manager and criteria for employment of a permanent city manager. Mr. James seconded the motion, ',which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING OFFICIALS FOR EXECUTION OF DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT PAYMENT VOUCHERS ON LETTER OF CREDIT. Mr. Cavazos moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor noted the Resolution was necessitated by the resignation of the City Msnager and Director of Finance Earl T. Williams as well. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 Mr. James.
