<br />95 <br /> <br />regular meeting, august 1, 1977 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOWTICtiI OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCCS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMISSICtiI OF A GRANT APPLICATICtiI TO <br />THE FARMER'S HCX>1E ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXTENSION <br />OF UTILITIES TO AN INDUSTRIAL SITE: AGREEING TO THE CONDITICtilS <br />SPECIFIED FOR CCtilSIDERATICtiI OF sum GRANT APPLICATICtiI; AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT SUCH APPLICATION. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen rroved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Jarres seconded the motion. <br />Richard MJ=is, representative of the Fanuer's Hare l\dministration, carre <br />before the Council to inform than that they must agree to maintain the <br />utility lines financed through the grant and retain such facilities <br />in the City's possession. Mr. Breihan requested the ColIDCil set a <br />consistent policy for the extension of utilities to sites outside the <br />City limits. He reminded than that it was City policy not to extern <br />utilities outside City limits nor to sell water outside the City limits. <br />He also pointed out there was not enough water n= to supply the needs <br />of businesses locating outside the City limits. Also requesting consideration <br />of a policy to service areas outside the City limits was Bob Boyd. Gordon <br />Hyatt representing the Industrial Foundation pointed out the City had first <br />discussed annexing the"property to be served in order to extend the utilities <br />and then disannexing the property as a concession to prospective industries <br />and businesses. On roll call the foll=ing vote was recorded on the rrotion <br />to adopt the resolution. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Cavazos, Craddock, Arredondo, Hansen, James, Sutton <br />NAY: None <br />ABSTAIN: Breihan <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton requested the council discuss the policy of extension of utilities <br />to sites outside the city limits at the next council workshop. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as foll=s: <br /> <br />A RESOWTICtiI FO THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCCS, <br />TEXAS, AOOPl'ING A RE:CCM1ENDED MINIMUM FINE SCHEDULE FOR <br />CERl'AIN FINES ASSESSED IN THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL COURI'. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the rrotion. <br />Mr. Larry Murphrey, Municipal Court Judge, came before the Council to report <br />that the new tickets containing the revised fine schedule as approved by the <br />City Council on April 25, 1977 had been received and were ready to issued <br />pending adoption of the resolution. He, reminded than that the fines had been <br />revised in resp::mse to citizen canplaints. On roll call the motion to adopt <br />the resolution was passed with the foll=ing vote. <br /> <br />AYE: Cavazos, Craddock, Arredondo, Hansen, Sutton, Breihan <br />Nay: James <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follOlJS: <br /> <br />A RESOWTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MAH:X)S, <br />TEXAS Aill'HORIZING THE CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH NarICE <br />REGARDING THE ACCEPI'ANCE OF BIDS FRCM BANKS WITHIN THE <br />CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY TO PROVIDE A DEPffiITORY OR <br />DEPffiITORIES FOR CITY FUNDS. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion I <br />which passed unanirrously. At 8:20 p.m. the Council recessed to Executive <br />Session on rrotion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. James. <br /> <br />The Council reconvened in Regular Session at 9 :45 p.m. on rrotion of Mr. Hansen <br />and second of Dr. Craddock. The Mayor reported that the Cotlncil had met to <br />discuss personnel matters including the evaluation of Council appointed <br />positions and benefits extended to the new City Manager. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:47 p.m. <br />Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />on rrotion of Mr. Cavazos and second of <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />.
