<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />184, <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion. <br />The City Manager summarized the contract, reporting that it was the standard <br />contract with two new items, those being the appointment of a subcommittee <br />for advising the Chamber on the expenditure funds to be allocated for the <br />arts and that $7,000 would be allocated for those expenditures. On roll call, <br />the motion to adopt the Resolution was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor directed the reading of an Ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION TWO OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH PROVIDES <br />FOR A JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE FOR THE PUBLIC <br />SAFETY DIVISION OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY REVISING THE <br />SALARY SCHEDULE. <br /> <br />The City Manager explained that some salaries in the schedule were below the <br />new mlnlmUffi wage shortly to go into effect; a problem in,h~ring Mhich will <br />eventually have to be faced. Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be'approved on <br />first reading. Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF PART OF PARCEL NO. 10-1, <br />DESCRIBED FURTHER ON EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO, LOCATED <br />WITHIN THE TEX. A-6, NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AREA, <br />TO P. KENNETH PITZER, TRUSTEE; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED TO P. KENNETH PITZER; AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the Ordinance be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion. <br />Paul Irwin and Ken Pitzer were present to go over their proposed development ~'i <br />with the Counoil. They stated that most of the trees on the ground would be ;;-5- <br />saved and that 'the building would be constructed with a natural stone exterior 1m M <br />with cedar trim. Councilman Breihan encouraged the Council to retain _. ttAl 0' e., <br />extra feet of right-of-way for the eventual construction of ~ Street. riaP5 <br />He pointed out that the subdivision ordinance would require a 60 feet right- ,I.' <br />of-way and presently the right-of-way shown for ~ Street was only 40 feet. ~ <br />Mr. Sutton objected to obstructions various Council members had placed in the <br />way of development commercial property. On roll call, the motion to adopt the <br />Ordinance on emergency basis was approved by the following vote: <br /> <br />Aye: Craddock, Arredondo, Hansen, Sutton, Cavazos <br />Nay: Breihan <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THAT SECTION OF CHAPTER 29 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES, ENTITLED "TRAFFICfI, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE <br />1975-14, ON MARCH 24, 1975, LOCATED IN VOL. 44, PAGE 185 OF <br />THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL, BY CHANGING THE SECTION NUMBER <br />OF THE SECTION ENTITLED "DECREASED SPEED LIMITS", OF SAID <br />CHAPTER 29, FROM SECTION 29-130, AS ADOPTED, TO SECTION 29-131, <br />AS CODIFIED; CORRECTING THE DESIGNATION OF SPEED ZONES ON <br />PETER GARZA STREET AND CANDELIGHT LANE; ESTABLISHING NEW DECREASED <br />SPEED ZONES FOR THE STREETS AROUND BONHAM KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL; <br />AND PROVIDNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. James seconded <br />the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that hearings had been scheduled for the Community <br />Development Program Year IV as follows: <br /> <br />December 5 - Statement of Needs and Long Term Objectives, <br />a general overview; December 12 - Short Term Programs with <br />Cost Estimates; December 19 - Adoption of Budget. <br /> <br />The Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. on motion of Dr. Craddock and second of <br />Mr. Cavazos. <br />
