<br />27 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />september 10, 19~9 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Hansen, James, Sutton <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Hyatt, Tenorio <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORI2lING <br />THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, FINANCE DIRECTOR, <br />SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, COMMUNITY SERVICES <br />DIRECTOR, AND CITY SECRETARY TO JOINTLY <br />SIGN CHECKS :OR OTHER INSTRUMENTS FOR THE <br />DISBURSEMENT OF CITY FUNDS; AND REQUIRING <br />THE SIGNATURE OF ANY TWO OF SAID PERSONS <br />ON ANY CHECK OR OTHER INSTRUMENT FOR DIS- <br />BURSEMENT OF CITY FUNDS FOR SUCH CHECK OR <br />INSTRUMENT TO BE v'ALID. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Sutton <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Secretary read an ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE <br />PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF 25,450 SQUARE <br />FEET OF LAND AREA OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDr <br />SURVEY NO. ONE (FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES <br />AND BOUNDS IN THE ATTACHED EXHIBIT A), ALSO <br />KNOWN AS URBAN RENEWAL PARCEL 12-2, LOCATED <br />WITHIN THE TEX. A-6 NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM AREA, TO TED COHEN; AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED TO TED <br />COHEN; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved the ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which pass!"d unanimous.ly. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING RATE <br />SCHEDULES TO BE CHARGED BY LOWER COLORADO <br />RIVER AUTHORITY IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR <br />SUCH RATE SCHEDULES, AND PROVIDING CONDITIONS <br />UNDER WHICH SUCH RATE SCHEDULES MAy BE CHANGED, <br />MODIFIED, AMENDED OR WITHDRAWN. <br /> <br />Mr. Tenorio moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion wn.ich passed unanimousJ_y. The <br />City Secretary informed the Council that the third and final <br />reading of the ordinance had been placed on the Speci.al Meeting <br />agenda for September 17. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration authorization to bid <br />a one-half ton pickup truck to be used by the Inspection Dept. <br />Mr. Breihan stated his contention that departments needing <br />vehicles for the transportation of personnel only should purchase <br />smaller trucks or sedans and that the Public Works or other <br />departments needing vehicles to transport equipment and supplies <br />should purchase full size trucks. Mr. Tenorio requested an <br />over all vehicle study to determine which. types of vehicles would <br />be most efficient and economical for the various departments. Mr. <br />Breihan moved the consideration for bidding a vehicle for the <br />Inspection Department be tabled pending further study by Staff <br />and Council. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />
