Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration authorization to purchase I <br />top soil for use in the San Marcos cemetery. The City Secretary <br />recommended that $315 be approved for expenditure from the special <br />contingency fund for purchase of 15 loads of sanding loam top soil <br />from Payne Brothers Excavation Company. Mr. Sutton moved the <br />recommendation be approved and the expenditure of $315 from the <br />special general contingency fund be authorized. Mr. Breihan seconded <br />the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Secretary read an ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REPEALING SECTION 2-31, ENTITLED <br />"JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND SALARY", OF ARTICLE III, <br />ENTITLED "CIVIL SERVICE AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS", OF <br />CHAPTER 2, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION" OF THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND THE NUMBER OF <br />POSITIONS IN EACH JOB CLASSIFICATION IN THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF PUBLIC SAFETY IN SAID CITY; SET'TING THE SALARY FOR <br />EACH JOB CLASSIFICATION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved the ordinance be adopted as an emergency. Mr. <br />Tenorio seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Hansen, James, Sutton, Tenorio, Breihan <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />NAY: Cavazos <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration, cemetery rules and regulations <br />wi th regard to curbing of cemetery lot's. Mr. Frank Taylor asked <br />the Council to consider amendment of those rules to allow curbing <br />of cemetery lots to City specification. Mr. Sutton asked that Mr. <br />Taylor discuss the matter with representatives of the Cemetery Association <br />and to bring a petition signed by persons requesting amendment cf <br />the cemetery rules.
