<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />60 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />october 8, 1979 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI,Y <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF JAMES <br />HOWARD TIDWELL AND BARBARA TIDWELL FOR THE PURCHASE <br />OF PART OF LOT NO. 6 IN BLOCK 2 OF THE LINDSEY <br />AND HARVEY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; <br />FURTHER DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT A ATTACHED HERETO; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY <br />DEED TO SAID BIDDER ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, IN TRUST, FOR ITSELF, THE STATE OF TEXAS, <br />THE COUNTY OF HAYS, AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED <br />INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />ih ;,eJ <br />Mr. Sutton moved the Ordinance be approved on ~ reading. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that item 9 on the agenda, a request by <br />Texas Museum of History, Inc. for approval of museum building <br />site, had been withdrawn and would be considered at a later date. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution and read its caption as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A LEASE OF A <br />PORTION OF THE PROPERTY AT SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL <br />AIRPORT TO TEXAS NATIONAL AIR RACE, INC. AND <br />AHTYORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Col. Jack Stovall, Chairman of the San Marcos Municipal Airport <br />Commission, recommended approval of the lease agreement. Mr. Breihan <br />requested that the lease be amended to state specifically that <br />the Texas National Air Race Inc. was to pay the City $7,500 or <br />one percent of the gross gate receipts each year. Mr. Cavazos <br />moved the lease be amended as Mr. Breihan requested and that the <br />Resolution be adopted. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A LEASE OF A <br />PORTION OF THE PROPERTY AT SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL <br />AIRPORT TO INTERNATIONAL SECURITY GROUP, INC. <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TB EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT <br />ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Tenorio moved that the lease be amended to provide for $lOO,OOO <br />as the minimum insurance coverage for any single occurrence for <br />injury to or destruction of property. Mr. Cavazos moved that the <br />lease be amended as Mr. Tenorio recommended and that the Resolution <br />be adopted. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE <br />OF A CEMETERY MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT <br />FOR THIS MAINTENANCE CONTRACT; AND ESTABLISHING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
