Yarbrough, jr., and <br />followed by a moment of silent prayer for Lyndon Johnson. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the meeting of January 8 were approved as presented <br />on motion of Councilman DeLa Rosa and second of Councilman Etheredge. <br /> <br />A report on certification of a petition demanding a recall election <br />was presented by the Deputy City Secretary (see report attached). <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance'annexing 632 acres in various <br />tracts and gave a history of Council study of the annexation. <br />The caption was read by the Deputy City Secretary as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN <br />BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND <br />THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF <br />APPROXIMATELY 632 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY <br />LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY <br />LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. <br /> <br />Councilman Yarbrough moved the ordinance be approved on first <br />reading. Councilman Etheredge seconded the motion. Mr. Hugh D. <br />Snell ings came before the Council, speaking for himself and <br />heirs of the Wills Estate, to again state his objections to the <br />annexation of Tract #7. In the discussion that followed, the <br />City Manager explained the precedure for determining annexation <br />'boundaries. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance <br />on first reading was unanimously approved. <br />
