Yarbrough, jr., and followed by a moment of silent prayer for Lyndon Johnson. The Minutes of the meeting of January 8 were approved as presented on motion of Councilman DeLa Rosa and second of Councilman Etheredge. A report on certification of a petition demanding a recall election was presented by the Deputy City Secretary (see report attached). The Mayor introduced an ordinance'annexing 632 acres in various tracts and gave a history of Council study of the annexation. The caption was read by the Deputy City Secretary as follows: I AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 632 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. Councilman Yarbrough moved the ordinance be approved on first reading. Councilman Etheredge seconded the motion. Mr. Hugh D. Snell ings came before the Council, speaking for himself and heirs of the Wills Estate, to again state his objections to the annexation of Tract #7. In the discussion that followed, the City Manager explained the precedure for determining annexation 'boundaries. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance on first reading was unanimously approved.
