I I I L 1() RECESSED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JANUARY 23, 1973 Present Mayor Luciano H. Flores Councilmen William L. Cunningham Guillermo DeLa Rosa Eddy A. Etheredge Ross King David R. Tauch Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr. City Manager City Secretary Mark E. Gresham Dorothy o. Worrell Also present: James B. Baugh; Dr. Billy M. Jones; Jerome Cates, Timothy FiSher; Diana Gonzales; Nell Saunders, Melissa Millecam, Chancy Lewis The Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The Mayor introduced a resolution which the City Secretary read in its entirety. The caption is as follows: A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENT TO ABANDON A PORTION OF LBJ DRIVE FROM WOODS STREET TO PICKARD STREET. Mr. Flores moved approval of the resolution. Mr. Yarbrough seconded the motion. Dr. Jones asked that the last paragraph be amended to read "or in any event, not later than June 1, 1975." Mr. Cates added "the portion of Roanoak Street between Guadalupe and LBJ Drive owned by the City". The additions being accepted by the Council, the City Secretary read the amended Resolution caption as follows: A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENT TO ABANDON PORTION OF LBJ DRIVE FROM WOODS STREET TO PICKARD STREET, AND THAT PORTION OF ROANOAK STREET BETWEEN GUADALUPE STREET AND LBJ DRIVE NOW OWNED BY THE CITY. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough NAY: None The Mayor declared the motion passed and the Resolution approved. A copy is attached and made a part of the Minutes. Councilmen were reminded of a meeting on Monday, January 29, 1973, at 11:30 a.m. at Carson's Restaurant to meet with the Tourist Commission of the Chamber of Commerce to discuss use of the hotel-motel room occupancy tax receipts for tourist development.
