18 regular meeting, february 12, 1973 page two The Mayor introduced an ordinance and the City Secretary read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND REGULATING RATES AND CHARGES WHICH MAY BE COLLECTED FOR LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICE RENDERED IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. Dr. Tauch moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion. Councilman Cunningham stated that, since the last meeting, he had become more con- fident that telephone service would improve; but that he was not in favor of granting the increase until the improvement was seen. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: DeLa Rosa, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough Cunningham Etheredge I The Mayor declared the ordinance approved on second reading. The Mayor introduced an ordinance and the City Secretary read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 632 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. Mr. Yarbrough moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an ordinance and the City Secretary read the caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO GARBAGE CAN SPECIFICATIONS, I CHARGES FOR GARBAGE COLLECTION FROM RESIDENCES, DISPOSAL OF SMALL DEAD ANIMALS, PRIVATE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, UNLAWFUL COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF GARBAGE, CHARGES FOR DISPOSING OF REFUSE AT CITY'S LANDFILL, AND CHARGES FOR SPECIAL REFUSE CONTAINER SERVICE; AMENDING CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENTITLED "GARBAGE AND TRASH" BY AMENDING SECTIONS 12-3, 12-7, AND 12-10 THEREOF; BY DELETING SECTION 12-12 AND 12-16 THEREOF AND SUBSTITUTING NEW SECTIONS UNDER THE SAME NUMBERS; CREATING AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION 12-17 "DISPOSAL CHARGES- SANITARY LANDFILL"; CREATING AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION 12-18 "REFUSE COLLECTION BY CITY-FROM SPECIAL CONTAINERS". Dr. Tauch moved the ordinance be approved on third and final reading. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough NAY: None The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. The Mayor introduced an amendatory ordinance which the City Secretary read in its entirety. The caption is as follows: I AN AMENDATORY ORDINANCE RELATING TO POOL HALLS; PAR- TICULARLY, TO THEIR HOURS OF OPERATION,> AND REPEAL OF THE PROHIBITION OF THE SALE, USE OF CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES UPON SUCH PREMISES; AMENDING ARTICLE III. OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY AMENDING SECT. 22-46 THEREOF AND BY REPEALING SECT. 22-47 THEREOF; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
