8Jj ORDER ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR CITY ELECTION WHEREAS THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS PROVIDE THAT ON APRIL 3, 1973, THERE SHALL BE ELECTED THE FOLLOWING OFFICIALS FOR THIS CITY: I COUNCILMAN, PLACE 6 COUNCILMAN, PLACE 7 AND, WHEREAS,' the laws of the State of Texas further provide that the Election Code of the State of Texas as applicable to said election, and in order to comply with said Code, an order should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and designating the voting places for said election: THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, that all candidates at the election to be held on the first Tuesday of April, 1973, for the above mentioned offices file their applications to become candidates with the Mayor of this City personally, or with the City Secretary at City Hall, on or before thirty (30) days before the date of said election: That all of said applications shall be substantially in the following form: "To the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas: I I hereby request that my name be placed on the official ballot for the election to be held on the day of April, 19 , as a candidate for --- of said City. I hereby certify that I am a citizen of the United States of America and that I am elegible to hold office under the Constitution of this State and have resided in this State for a period of twelve (12) months next preceeding the date of said election and have resided in this city which I offer myself as a candidate for twelve (12) months next preceeding the date of said election. Dated day of , 19 Name of Candidate Received the _____ day of , 19 Mayor" All candidates shall file with said application the loyalty affidavit required by Article 6.02 of the Election Code. I That the Secretary of this City shall, in accordance with the terms and provisions of Article 13.32 of the Election Code, post in her office the names of all candidates who have filed their applications in accordance with the terms and provisions of this order, and said names shall be posted at a conspicuous place at least ten (10) days before said Secretary orders the same to be printed on the ballot for said election.
