Action on this <br />matter was tabled by common consent of the Council. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved the Environmental Advisory Board Ordinance be taken <br />from the table for action. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion. On roll <br />call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores <br />NAY: Sutton <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN <br />ORDINANCE DATED MARCH 8, 1971, ESTABLISHING A BOARD TO ADVISE THE CITY <br />COUNCIL AND THE CITY ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN MATTERS CONCERNING THE <br />ENVIRONMENT BY DELETING SECTION 2 OF SUCH ORDINANCE AND ENACTING A <br />NEW SECTION NUMBERED 2 BY ALLOWING MEMBERSHIP TO SUCH BOARD BY CITIZENS <br />LIVING WITHIN ONE MILE OF THE CITY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock read the caption of the ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved the ordinance be approved on first reading with an <br />amendment that the phrase "living within one mile of the city" be stated <br />"living within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city". The motion <br />was seconded by Mr. Cunningham. On roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores <br />NAY: Sutton. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for discussion the appointment of two members to <br />the Environmental Advisory Board and stated that the following persons had <br />been nominated: Curtis Jenkins, William C. Pool, Art Ables and Glenn Longley. <br />On roll call, Councilmen voted for two nominees. Mr. Jenkins and Dr. Longley <br />received a majority of the votes. Dr. Longley will serve as the member <br />living within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City. <br /> <br />Councilman. Breihan reported that he had met with the Flood Control Steering <br />Committee who had requested a meeting in the near future with the Council, <br />Urban Renewal Agency and Railroad officials to study drainage problems in <br />periods of flooding with respect to designating responsibility for payment <br />of specific damages. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Councilman Sutton requested the matter of a road from Owen Goodnight School <br />to I.H. 35 be placed on the July 15 workshop session. <br /> <br />At 9:20 p.m. the Council recessed to an executive session to discuss a personnel <br />matter.
