Worrell <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and gave the <br />Invocation. <br /> <br />Minutes of the October 26 meeting were approved as presented, <br />on motion of Mr. Etheredge and second of Dr. Tauch. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing on a request for rezoning of <br />a 9-acre tract ori Interstate 35 North. Mr. R.F. Lovela~e is owner <br />of the property. <br />Dr. Stanley Sissom, member of the Planning u Zoning Commission, <br />said the origi~al request ~as for rezoning from "R-1"(residential) <br />to "C" (commercial) on his entire property at that location. The <br />Commission persuaded him to revise his request, as proposed for <br />the hearing. No one else came forward to speak for or against the <br />request for rezoning. <br />The Mayor declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough introduced and read aloud an ordinance with the <br />following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, .1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING <br />THE ZONING OF A 9-ACRE TRACT OUT OF J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2: <br />~SECTION TO THE DEPTH OF 500 FEET WHICH FACES ON IH 35 FROM <br />"R-1" (SINGLE~FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL); AND THE <br />REMAINDER OF THE 9-ACRE TRACT, ADJOINING TO THE EAST, FROM <br />"R-1" TO "D" (MULTI-FAMILY) <br /> <br />Mr. King moved approval of the ordinance on first reading. <br />Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which' passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the following caption: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A BUILDING CODE TO GOVERN THE <br />CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, EQUIPMENT, <br />USE AND OCCUPANCY, AND THE MAINTENANCE @F BUILDINGS AND <br />STRUCTURES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE; ESTABLISHiNG PENALTIES FOR <br />VIOLATIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br /> <br />Mr. King moved adoption of the ordinance as an emergency. <br />Mr. Flores seconded the motion and on roll call, th~ following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Etheredge, flores. King, Yarbrough, Tauch <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br />
