ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF CITY OFFICERS' ELECTION THE STATE OF TEXAS CITY OF SAN MARCOS I On the 5th day of April, 1972, the City Counci I of the City of San Marcos, Texas, convened in special session open to the publ ic in the Counci I Room of the City Hal I with the following members present, to-wit: Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr., Mayor; Councilwoman Frances D. Emery; Counci Imen Eddy A. Etheredge, Luciano H. Flores and Ross King; and City Secretary Dorothy O. Worrell; and the f91 lowing absent; Councilmen Guillermo DeLa Rosa and David R. Tauch, constituting a quorum. Councilman Etheredge introduced a resolution and order and moved its adopt i on. The mot i on was seconded by Cou nc i I woman Emery, and the motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution and order prevailed by the following vote: AYES: Yarbrough, Emery, Etheredge, Flores and King NOES: None I The resolution is as fol lows: There came on to be considered the returns of an election held on the 4th day of April, 1972, for the purpose of electing the hereinafter named officials, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 6392 val id and legal votes; that each of the candidates in said election received the following votes: COUNCILMAN, PLACE 4 WILLIAM L. "BILL" CUNNINGHAM 1682 FRANCES D. EMERY 549 MRS. RUTH F. THOMAS 962 COUNCilMAN, PLACE 5 NEWMAN W. GIBBS 1322 I EDDY A ETHEREDGE 1873 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: That said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and th~t 'said election was held in accordance with law, and Wil I iam l. "Bill" Cunningham and Eddy A. Etheredge were duly elected Councilmen of said City and said above named parties are hereby declared duly elected to said respective offices, subject to the taking of their oaths as provided by the laws of the State of Texas.
