Worrel I <br /> <br />Also present: James Baugh, Jerri Martin and Lanny Cravey. <br /> <br />The Mayor cal led the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution requesting aid from the Office <br />of Emergency Preparedness in arranging for emergency housing for <br />qualified victims of the May 11 flood. The City Manager explained <br />that the appl ication to the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development would be processed through the Office of Emergency <br />Preparedness. If approved, qual ified victims of the flood would <br />receive a mobile home as emergency housing for one year. The <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development wil I transport the <br />mobile homes, hook them up, and they wil I remain the property <br />of HUD. Approximately 30 to 40 homes are needed. Mr. Gresham <br />also explained that he had contacted Executive Director David <br />Ybarra of the San Marcos Housing Authority who would take applications <br />from those requesting emergency housing. After further discussion, <br />Mr. Etheredge moved the Re~olution be approved. Mr. King seconded <br />the motion, and on roll cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, flores, King <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Approved. <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the San Marcos Housing Authority be designated <br />to take applications for emergency housing and to function as <br />management authority for the program. Mr. Etheredge seconded the <br />motion, and on 1'01 I cal I, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, Kihg <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance with the fol lowing caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL" <br />BY DELETING SECTION 30-35 RATES OF ARTICLE 11 <br />THEREOF; SUBSTITUTING A NEW SECTION UNDER THE <br />SAME NAME AND NUMBER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />
