<br />~p <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br />I- of San-;A1arcos <br /> <br />POST OFFICE BOX 725/ SAN MARCOS, TEXAS 78666/ AC 512 392-2417 <br /> <br />November 5, 1970 <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />City of San Marcos <br />San Marcos, Texas <br /> <br />Gentlemen and Dr. Craddock: <br /> <br />The following remarks refer to the November 3, 1970, Planning and <br />Zoning Commission meeting and are for your information: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A. A Public Hearing was held on a requested change of zoning from <br />Mr. Theodore W. Breihan on lots l, 2, 3, 4, & 5, section 2 of the <br />Coers Addition, and .716 acres out of the T.J. Chambers League, from <br />"R-l" (single family residential) to "M" (mixed). After due discussion <br />and consideration, the Commission agreed to recommend to the City <br />Council that the property remain "R-l" (single family residential) <br />ahd that the requested change be denied. <br /> <br />B. A Public Hearing was held on a zoning change on request of the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission on lots l-4, 14-l9, 22-27, 45-48, <br />66-71, 76-79, 84-87, 92-95, 100-103, 108-1ll, 114-117, 119-l42, out <br />of the Park Addition; and the R.M. Schmidt Estate, the H.M. Greene <br />Property, the Satterfield property, and a tract of land in the rear <br />of block 6, in the College Courts Addition out of the T.J. Chambers <br />League. The requested change is from "P-2" (public use) to "R-l" <br />(single family residential). Due to the great amount of objection to <br />the proposed change by property owners within 200 feet, the Commission <br />agreed to table the request for further study in order to zone the <br />property for its best usage. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C. A request was received by the Planning and Zoning ~ommission <br />from Central Freight Lines for a change of zonil1g from "R-l" (single <br />family residential) to "c" (commercial), on a tract of land, some <br />7.20 acres out of the J.M. Veramendi Survey No. One and being a <br />part of a tract of l4.20 acres conveyed by Theodore William Breihan <br />and wife, Frances E. Breihan,_to Central Freight Lines Inc. ,by deed <br />dated January lO, 1966, recorded in Volume 209, Page 418 of the Deed <br />Records of Hays County, Texas. The Commission felt that a change <br />from "R-l" to "I" (industrial) would better implement the Comprehensive <br />Plan for the City of San Marcos. The Commission voted to hold a <br />Public Hearing on a zoning change from "R-l" (single family residential) <br />to "I" (industrial) on December l, 1970 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />D.
