<br />~egular meeting, november 23, 1970 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Mr. Jim T. Brown, Executive Director of the Urban Renewal <br />Agency, gave a progress report on "The River Project". He <br />stated the Agency was in better financial condition than it <br />had been in .~aRS, and reported that the River Project was <br />52.29 % completed, with only 48 % of the budgeted funds <br />disbursed. Of the 113 parcels of land to be acquired, only <br />46 remained to be purchased, Mr. Brown said. <br />The Mayor thanked Mr. Brown for an excellent report, and for <br />the g&b being done by the Agency. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Under Planning & Zoning matters, the Council considered a <br />request for change of zoning on the Leopoldo Garza tract, <br />from "R-l" (single family residential) to "M" (mixed). <br />The Mayor read the letter from the Planning & Zoning Commiss- <br />ion, recommending the request be granted. Mr. Contreras <br />moved that the Leopoldo Garza property on River Road and <br />Bugg Lane be rezoned. from "R-l" to "M". Mr. Zavesky seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Council considered a revised INOECO Subdivision plat, <br />presented by Mr. Darryl Johnson and Mr. Clifton S. Frankmann. <br />Councilmen discussed the interpretation of the Amendment to <br />the Subdivision Ordinance which requires that parking areas <br />be within 250 feet of houses. Mr. Yarbrough moved that the <br />Council accept the INDECO Subdivision plat, with the provision <br />that all lots that do not come within 250 feet of the parking <br />areas (required in the Amendment to the Subdivision Ordinance) <br />be deleted from the plan, the 250-ft. provision being inter- <br />preted as measured in a straight line from the parking areas <br />to the property line; and that INDECO, or i.ts sucessors and <br />assigns agree to maintain the greenbelt areas within the <br />subdivision. Mr. King seconded the motion and on roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Contre'ras, Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed. <br /> <br />The City Manager gave a short report on the proposed swimming <br />pool, and "asked that.the Council adjourn to reconvene at the <br />call of the Mayor, when the necessary papers were ready for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />The Council agreed by common con~ent to djourn to <br />at the call of the Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />./};{/~~ ~ <br />~...
