I I I ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, NOVEMBER 30,1970 Present: Mayor Hollis W. Smith Councilmen: Emmie Craddock, Ph.D. Luciano H. Flores Ross King Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr. Jerry Zavesky City Manager City Secretary Richard G. Bean Dorothy O. Worrell Absent: Councilman Frank Contreras, jr. Visitors: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin, Lanny Cravy, David Basye, Lorrie Ann and Charlton Hall Zavesky The Mayor called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. The City Manager explained that the meeting had been called to consider an alternate plan for financing the proposed municipal swimming pool. Mr. Yarbrough asked i f,.the plan proposed by the Hays County Veterans Association had been abandoned. The Mayor brought the Council up to date on the meeting he had attended with Kenneth Sutton of Hays County Veterans Association, Lawrence E . Hans, P. E. ,_of Pool" Tech, who had drawn the plans for the proposed' pool, Tom Utter of Urban Renewal Agency, and the City Manager. Mr_ Sutto~had reported that the original ~lan to finance the pool through a $10,000 gift from the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, and public subscription, had failed through in- ability to get a drive chairman, and general lack of interest. It was found that Federal funds might ..be avai,lable, channeled through TeXas Parks and Wildlife, and Mr. Smith stated that course was now being pursued. The Mayor introduced and read aloud a Resolution designating City Manager Richard G. Bean to act for the City in making applicat- ion for a Federal grant. A copy is attached as a part of the Minutes. Dr. Craddock moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Craddock, Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky NAY: None The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. The Mayor introduced and read aloud a Resolution designating City Treasurer Nancy Kreczmer as Fiscal Officer to receive and disburse Federal funds related to the proposed grant. A copy is attached as a part of the Minutes. Dr. Craddock moved aprov- al of the Resolution naming Nancy Kreczmer as Fiscal Officer. Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Craddock, Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky NAY: None The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved.
