<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, NOVEMBER 30,1970 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Hollis W. Smith <br /> <br />Councilmen: <br /> <br />Emmie Craddock, Ph.D. <br />Luciano H. Flores <br />Ross King <br />Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr. <br />Jerry Zavesky <br /> <br />City Manager <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />Richard G. Bean <br />Dorothy O. Worrell <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilman <br /> <br />Frank Contreras, jr. <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin, Lanny Cravy, <br />David Basye, Lorrie Ann and Charlton Hall <br />Zavesky <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The City Manager explained that the meeting had been called to <br />consider an alternate plan for financing the proposed municipal <br />swimming pool. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough asked i f,.the plan proposed by the Hays County <br />Veterans Association had been abandoned. <br /> <br />The Mayor brought the Council up to date on the meeting he had <br />attended with Kenneth Sutton of Hays County Veterans Association, <br />Lawrence E . Hans, P. E. ,_of Pool" Tech, who had drawn the plans for <br />the proposed' pool, Tom Utter of Urban Renewal Agency, and the City <br />Manager. Mr_ Sutto~had reported that the original ~lan to finance <br />the pool through a $10,000 gift from the American Legion and Veterans <br />of Foreign Wars, and public subscription, had failed through in- <br />ability to get a drive chairman, and general lack of interest. <br />It was found that Federal funds might ..be avai,lable, channeled <br />through TeXas Parks and Wildlife, and Mr. Smith stated that course <br />was now being pursued. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced and read aloud a Resolution designating <br />City Manager Richard G. Bean to act for the City in making applicat- <br />ion for a Federal grant. A copy is attached as a part of the <br />Minutes. Dr. Craddock moved approval of the Resolution. <br />Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced and read aloud a Resolution designating <br />City Treasurer Nancy Kreczmer as Fiscal Officer to receive and <br />disburse Federal funds related to the proposed grant. A copy <br />is attached as a part of the Minutes. Dr. Craddock moved aprov- <br />al of the Resolution naming Nancy Kreczmer as Fiscal Officer. <br />Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br />
