<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />(" '7 <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />412 Candlelight Lane <br />San Marcos, Texas <br />28 December 1970 <br /> <br />To the Mayor and Members <br />of the City Council of <br />San Marcos, Texas <br /> <br />Dear Friends: <br /> <br />It is with sincere regret that I tender my resignation as <br />Councilman, Place 4, effective this date. <br /> <br />The recent ruling by the Comptroller of Public Accounts of <br />the State of Texas in regard to State employees holding <br />elective office makes it incumbent upon me to relinquish my <br />pos t. <br /> <br />I feel I have benefitted greatly by my years as an appointed <br />member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, and more recently, <br />as a member of the City Council. <br /> <br />I am sorry I can no longer represent those who showed their <br />confidence and trust by electing me to the Council in April, <br />1969. <br /> <br />I wish to express my appreciation to my fellow Councilmen for <br />the relationship we have enjoyed as we worked together on <br />various projects for the betterment and improvement of San Marcos. <br />I will miss the association with each of you. <br /> <br />Sincerely yours, <br /> <br />~:;;;;f~~- <br /> <br />FC/pn <br />
