<br />regular meeting, february 22, 1971 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Councilman King said he had had a number of complaints <br />from citizens about speed violations on one-way streets. <br />Mr. Bean said he would check intm it. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem reminded Councilmen that presiding <br />judges were needed for Precincts 6 u 8, Mr. Flores moved <br />that Guillermo de la Rosa be appointed Presiding Judge of <br />Precinct 6, fpr the April 6 Election, Mr, Zavesky seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved that Mrs. Ann Brieger be appointed I <br />Presiding Judge of Precinct 8 for the April 6 Election, <br />Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented the Council with a bid tabulat- <br />ion on fuels and lubricants, and recommended that the contracts <br />be let to the low bidders, Mr. King moved that the fuel <br />contract be let to Atlantic-Richfield, and the lubricants <br />contract to Continental Oil Co. Mr. Zavesky seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr, Bean presented bid tabulations on purchase of vehicles, <br />and explained that Simon-Gregg had offered a 2% discount, <br />if given the contract on all ten vehicles. This made Simon- <br />Gregg the low bidd~r. Mr. Zavesky moved that Simon-Gregg <br />be awarded the contract .for p~rchase of all ten vehicles,on <br />alow bid of $36,395.23. Mr. King seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr, Bean pr~sented for consideration the renewal of a lease <br />for the Golf Course. He explained that consideration for the <br />lease was based on the amount of acl valorem taxes, and was the <br />same figure as last year. Mr. Kimgmoved that the Mayor be I <br />authorized to sign the lease for the City.
