If public hearing, regular meeting, april 12, 1971 page two AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: De La Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, Smith None Yarbrough The Mayor declared the motion carried, and Mr. Yarbrough assumed the chair. Explaining that it was advisable to have a full Council select the Mayor, Councilman King moved that Hollis Smith continue as Mayor until after the May 4 Run-off Election. Mr, De La Rosa secmnded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: I AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: De La Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, Yarbrough None Smith The Temporary Chairman declared the motion carried, and re- linquished the chair to the Mayor. Mr. King moved that Councilman Flores continue as Mayor Bro Tem for the interim. Mr. De LaRosa seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: DeLaRosa, Emery, King, Smith, Yarbrough None Flores The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor opened a public hearing on the second year of the Neighborhood Development Program No. TEX.-6, administered under Urban Renewal Agency. Mr, Smith introduced Mrs. Laura L. Ramsay, Chairman of the Urban Renewal Agency, who called on Executive Directlor Jim T. Brown to present the program. By use of maps, charts and films, Mr. Brown made a detailed report,sta:rting with "pre-Urban Renewal" days in San Marcos, and concluding with a projection of future developments during the second year of NDP TEX A-6. I The Mayor thanked Mr,. Brown for an excellent and interesting presentation, and asked for questions from the Council and visitors, Among those who asked questions and participated in the dis- cussion were Augustin Lucio, Jr" former member of the. Urban Renewal Commission; Ruben Ruiz, former Councilman; Jerri Martin and Don Trepagnier. There being no further questions. the Mayor declared the public hearing closed.
