Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor requested the City Manager to explain the prov~s~ons of a one-year contract prepared for Clifford Cason & Associates, Inc., for the Code Enforcement Program. The Program had prev- iously been approved by the Council. Mr. DeLa Rosa moved that I the City Manager be authorized to execute the contract with Clifford Cason.& Associates, Inc. Mrs. Emery seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor reminded the Council that the term of the Municipal Court Judge would expire that week. Mr. King moved that Mr. Chris Becker be reappointed for a one-year term. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor reminded the Council that two alternates should be appointed to the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Mr. Yarbrough said he would like to submit the name of Walter B. Preston for consideration at the next meeting. Mr. King moved approval on second reading of an ordinance amending the ordinance establishing rates for sanitation service. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the following caption: AN ORD I NANCE CLOSI NG AND ABANDON I NG AN ALLEY, BETWEEN HUTCHISON AND HOPKINS STREETS AND PARALLEL TO BOTH COMANCHE AND FREDERICKSBURG STREETS, SUCH ALLEY BEING LOCATED IN BLOCK 14 OF THE O~IGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER QUITCLAIM DEEDS RELINQUISHING ,ALL RIGHT, TITLE AND INT~ EREST OF THE CITY OF ,SAN MARCOS IN SAID ALLEY TO THE OWNERS OF REAL PROPERTY ADJACENT THERETO I Mr. Flores moved adoption of the ,Ordinance on third and final reading.
