OF SAID ORDINANCE;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND PROVIDING FOR
LEGAL PUBLICATION HEREOF

I

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
TEXAS:

1.

That the following street intersections be added to the list
of street intersections set out in Section 1. of that ordi-
nance of the City of San Marcos which authorizes the placing
and maintenance of traffic-control devices at various street
intersections within the limits of the City of San Marcos:

(n) The intersection of Colorado Street and Edwa~d Gary
Street.

(0) The intersection of Hopkins Street and Moore Street.

Said existing traffic-control device ordinance was passed,
approved and adopted on the 14th day of August, 1967, and is
set out in Volume 34, pages 177-178, of the Minutes of the
City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas.

I

11.

That, except as hereby amended, said ordinance of August 14,
1967, shall otherwise remain unchanged.

111.

I

That the public health, welfare and safety being endangered
due to the fact that the present ordinance governing the
placing and maintenance of traffic-cont~ol devices at various
intersections within the limits of the City, of San Marcos
does not include the intersections of Colorado and Edward Gary
Streets and Hopkins and Moore Streets; therefore, as these
intersections are heavily travelled and without devices to
control such traffic, an emergency exists, requiring that the
prbvisions of the Charter of the City of San Marcos which
provide< that ordinances be read on three several days and that
no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten
days following the date of its final passage, be dispensed with
at this time. Thus, the amendatory ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its legal publication
in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of San Marcos,
Texas.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this &th day of September, 1969.

~~

Ellis Serur, Mayor

0Ylit-~ . &J?4

Albert M.
