<br />,>;L' <br /> <br />~ <br />I- of Sm:hlams <br /> <br />POST OFFICE BOX 725/ SAN MARCOS, TEXAS 78666/ AC 512 392-2417 <br /> <br />November 21, 1969 <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />City of San Marcos <br />San Marcos, Texas <br /> <br />Gentelmen and Dr. Craddock: <br /> <br />The following remarks refer to the Planning and Zoning Commission held on Tuesday, <br />November 18, 1969: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A. A Public Hearing was held on a request for a change of zoning by Mrs. Mayme <br />Warren on 1.125 acres, more or less, out of the T. J. Chambers Survey and located <br />on Lamar Street, from "R-l" (single-family residential) to "D" (multi-family). No, <br />protest was received. After due discussion and consideration by the Commission, <br />it was agreed by majority vote to forward this request to the City Council with the <br />Commission's approval. A map is attached for your information. <br /> <br />B. A request for annexation was petitioned by Thermon lndustrial Development <br />Corporation. The property is located off lnterstate 35,southof The Wide~Lite <br />Corporation and Bowden Construction and consists of 40.5 acres of land, which <br />will be developed as an industrial site. After due discussion and consideration <br />by the Commission, it was voted unanimously to forward this request for annexation <br />to the City Council with the Commission's approval. A map and the petition will <br />be available for the Council meeting Monday night. <br /> <br />The following is for, your information, and requires no action by the Council at <br />the November 24th meeting: Mr. Calvin Varner came before the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission to discuss annexation of his property located off Uhland Road, next to <br />KCNY Radio Station and across the road from Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Varner <br />plans to develop this property into a mobile home park. The Commission gave pre- <br />liminary approval to this annexation.
