Mr. Contreras <br />moved that the plat be given conditional approval. <br />Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll call the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, COMtreras, Dannelley, Flores, Serur, <br />Zavesky <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Manager explained HTOPICS" to the Council. <br />At a previous meeting, the City Manager had been author- <br />ized to make application to the State Highway Department <br />for participation in the "iraftic ~perations ~rogram to <br />increase capacity and ,safety... within the designated <br />boundarie-; of urban ar;as". Mr. Dannelley moved that <br />the Mayor be authorized to sign an agreement with the <br />State for participation in TOPICS. Mr. Flores seconded <br />the motion and on rollcall, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />The Mayor suggested that the Land~ommittee, composed.of <br />Mr. Flores and Mr. Dannelley, make' a survey of the 'Clty's <br />surplus property 'and report back to the Council within I <br />thirty day,s. Mr. Serurmentioned specifically the dump <br />grounds no longer in use since the City has gone to land- <br />fill operation for garbage disposal. He said.ri ibvesti- <br />gation into future use of the properties might result in <br />increased revenue to the City. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported that interest on surplus funds <br />invested in U .S.Treasury Sills had netted the City <br />$10,203.93 during the period October 1, 1969 to January 15,1970. <br />A. written report is made a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />Mr. Bean reported that the Water & Sewer Project was <br />running ahead of schedule; with two crews on the sewer lines, <br />and one on the water. He showed photographs of the work <br />in progress. The City Manager said the City got a "good" <br />well. at 19Sfeet, which had tested out ~he previou~ week at <br />2100 gallons a minute. He reported the waste water treatment <br />plant about thirty d~ys from completion. Mr. Beari said about <br />$750,000 had been expended on the Water & Sewer Project. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at roS5 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br />
