<br />recessed regular meeting, april 21, 1970 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter of resignation from Peter <br />Rodriguez, Jr., member of the Planning & Zoning Commission. <br />Dr. Craddock moved t.hatthe Council accept Mr. Rodriguez' <br />resignation, and that a letter of appreciation be sent from <br />the Council. Mr. Zavesky seconded ~he motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor reminded the Council that two vacancies exist on <br />the, Planning & Zoning Commission, both for unexpired terms I <br />ending in Oct.ober, 1970. Mr. Smith said that names suggested <br />would be considered at the April 27 meeting. Dr. Craddock <br />submitted the names of Mrs. Mike (Mary Alice) Guerrero and <br />H,C. Kyle4 111. Jerry Zavesky stated he had already submitted <br />the name of Joe Kohut. <br /> <br />Councilman King said he felttheCouhcil should take notice of <br />"Earth Day", to be observed throughout the Nation on April 22. <br />Dr. Craddock said she concurred, and moved that the Council <br />endorse -Eanth Day" and all it stoo~for. Councilman King <br />seconded the motion, saying:nIt's the only Eart~ we have!~ <br />The motion was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. King said his firm owned a small piece of property in <br />the Urban Renewal area. He asked that the City Manager enquire <br />whether he is required to make a public statement on the matter. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbt'ough introduced for discussion, the many boards which <br />are appoint$d byth~Co~hcil. and said he wouldl{ke to know <br />more about the duties of persons Sf" appointed."
