A Public Hearing was held on a change of zoning requested <br />by Mrs. Maggie Jones on a tract of land, approximately <br />two (2) acres fronting on Lamar Street bounded on the <br />north by Spring Lake Hills Estates, and on the southwest <br />by San Marcos Properties, presently zoned "R-l" (single <br />family residential) to "D" (multifamily). Due to the <br />opposition voiced by several property owners within 200 <br />feet of the proposed change, the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission denied the request. <br /> <br />B. Requests for changes in zoning were received on the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. James Michalec and William Martin - Lots 82, 89, <br />and the west part of Lot 90, in the Park Addition, from <br />"R-l" (single family residential) to "D" (multifamily). <br /> <br />2. Catholic Sisters - 317 Blanco from "R-l" (single <br />family residential) to "P-2" (school). <br /> <br />3. W.C. Carson, Agent for John Nigliazzo - See attached <br />field notes. From "R-l" (single family residential) to <br />"c" (commercial). <br /> <br />The Public Hearing for these requests will be held Tuesday, September 1, <br />1970, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Room of City Hall. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />C. Mr. Bill Windhamappearedbefore.ctheCommissioil to <br />request a change of.zoilingfortheFirst Baptist Church <br />property from "D" (multifamily) to "P-2" (public), to <br />facilitate the granting of a building permit. The First <br />Baptist Church is presently zoned as "non-conforming" in <br />a "D" zoned area, and cannot build on their land. The <br />suggestion was made to refer Mr. Windham to the Board of <br />
