<br />3 <br /> <br />regular meeting, july 8, 1974 page three <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a resolution stating the Council's <br />intent to adopt, when completed, an emergency operations plan <br />to be used in the event;of natural disaster or national emergency. <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a resolution creating a "San Marcos <br />Beautification Award". Mr. Sutton moved approval of the <br />Resolution. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance <br />on second reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE DATED MARCH 8, 1971, ESTABLISHING <br />A BOARD TO ADVISE THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN MATTERS CONCERNING THE ENVIRONMENT <br />BY DELETING SECTION 2 OF SUCH ORDINANCE AND ENACTING A <br />NEW SECTION NUMBERED 2 BY ALLOWING MEMBERSHIP TO SUCH <br />BOARD BY CITIZENS LIVING WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL <br />JURISDICTION OF THE CITY. <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Breihan <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously on second <br />reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance <br />on second reading: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF BOYNTON <br />STREET TO FRANKLIN DRIVE. <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously,on second <br />reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock asked the Council to consider the appointment <br />of a Deputy City Secretary. Mr. Sutton moved,that Linda <br />McGahee be appointed. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock stated that the fOllowing persons had been <br />nominated for appointment as Alternate Municipal Court Judge: <br />Mr. Ronald Champion and Mr. Gene Majors. Roll call vote was <br />taken with the following results: <br /> <br />Champion: <br />Majors: <br /> <br />Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton <br />Breihan <br /> <br />Mr. Champion was appointed as Alternate Municipal Court Judge. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton made a motion to set the term for the alternate at <br />one year, from the 1st of October to the 30thcdf September of <br />each year. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock stated that the following had been nominated for <br />appointment to the Bicentennial Commission: Mr. Scott Burton <br />and Mr. Jim Meador. Mr. Breihan moved that these gentlemen <br />be appointed. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />
