3 regular meeting, july 8, 1974 page three Mayor Craddock introduced a resolution stating the Council's intent to adopt, when completed, an emergency operations plan to be used in the event;of natural disaster or national emergency. Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. I Mayor Craddock introduced a resolution creating a "San Marcos Beautification Award". Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance on second reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE DATED MARCH 8, 1971, ESTABLISHING A BOARD TO ADVISE THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE CITY ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN MATTERS CONCERNING THE ENVIRONMENT BY DELETING SECTION 2 OF SUCH ORDINANCE AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 2 BY ALLOWING MEMBERSHIP TO SUCH BOARD BY CITIZENS LIVING WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY. Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously on second reading. Mayor Craddock read the caption of the following ordinance on second reading: I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF BOYNTON STREET TO FRANKLIN DRIVE. Mr. Flores moved approval of the ordinance. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously,on second reading. Mayor Craddock asked the Council to consider the appointment of a Deputy City Secretary. Mr. Sutton moved,that Linda McGahee be appointed. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Dr. Craddock stated that the fOllowing persons had been nominated for appointment as Alternate Municipal Court Judge: Mr. Ronald Champion and Mr. Gene Majors. Roll call vote was taken with the following results: Champion: Majors: Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton Breihan Mr. Champion was appointed as Alternate Municipal Court Judge. I Mr. Sutton made a motion to set the term for the alternate at one year, from the 1st of October to the 30thcdf September of each year. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Dr. Craddock stated that the following had been nominated for appointment to the Bicentennial Commission: Mr. Scott Burton and Mr. Jim Meador. Mr. Breihan moved that these gentlemen be appointed. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
