51 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, SEPTEMBER 23,1974 Present: Mayor Emmie Craddock I Councilmen Ted Breihan William L. Cunningham Bill Dibrell Luciano H. Flores John Hansen Kenneth E. Sutton City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Director, Finance James B. Baugh Doriss Hambrick Tom Akins Earl T. Williams Also present: Tom Harwood; Don Rains; Mr. & Mrs. Richard Mason; Gerald Klossner; Jose Villarreal; Simon Ramirez; Mr. & Mrs. John Morrisset; George Gilbert; Jerri Martin; Mike Wallace; Melissa Millecam; and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held September 9, 1974, were approved on motion of Mr. Sutton and second of Mr. Hansen. I The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning on part of Lot 26 and all of Lot 27, Block 1 of the Forest Hills Addition, from "c" to "C-2". The applicant, Don Rains, was present and represented by attorney Thomas Harwood. No objections were presented to the rezoning. The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF LOT 26 AND ALL OF LOT 27 OF BLOCK 1 OF THE FOREST HILLS ADDITION, LOCATED AT 802 NORTH L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). The ordinance was approved on first reading on motion of Mr. Dibrell and second of Mr. Cunningham. Tbe Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning on .71 and .703 acres out of J.M. Veramendi League No.1 from "c" to "C-2". Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mason, applicants, were present to request the change. Mr. Jose Villarreal and Mr. Simon Ramirez were present to state objections to the change in zoning on the basis of not enough parking which creates the problem of Skate Skeller patrons parking on private property. The Council discussed means of alleviating this problem through the police department. The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF .71 and .703 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER ONE, LOCATED AT 1105 HIGHWAY 123, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. Cunningham moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
