<br />53 <br /> <br />regular meeting, september 23, 1974 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 18,..4 ENTITLED "CONTROL OF <br />ANIMALS IN PUBLIC PARKS". <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Breihan seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton <br />NAY: Cunningham. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 18 <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY ENTITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION", <br />BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 18-5 ENTITLED "PROHIBITING MOTOR <br />VEHICLES IN PUBLIC PARKS". <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 18 <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY ENTITLED "PARKS AND RECREATION", <br />BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 18-6 ENTITLED "ESTABLISHING <br />REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN PUBLIC PARKS". <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Dibrell, Craddock, Hansen, Sutton <br />NAY: Cunningham, Flores. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN <br />ORDINANCE CREATING THE BELVIN STREET HISTORICAL DISTRICT BY ADDING TO <br />AND INCLUDING IN SAID HISTORICAL DISTRICT THAT PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE <br />MASONIC TEMPLE, AND DELETING FROM SAID DISTRICT THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY <br />OWNED BY NELL MONTGOMERY. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a Resolution and read the caption as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A LICENSE ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY WITH THE MISSOURI-KANSAS-TEXAS RAILROAD COMPANY FOR THE <br />LAYING OF A THREE-QUARTER INCH WATER PIPE ACROSS RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY. <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. George Gilbert came before the Council with a report and recommendations <br />from the Airport Committee. Councilman Breihan moved that the Airport Committee <br />remain active until the Council could appoint an Airport Commission, established <br />by Ordinance, not later than the first meeting in November. Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The recommendations of the <br />committee are attached and made a part of these Minutes. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />By common consent, the appointment to fill an unexpired term on the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission was deferred to the next meeting. Dr. Craddock moved <br />approval of the appointment of Mrs. John Morrisset to a three year term on <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission.
