<br />75 <br /> <br />regular meeting, october 30, 1974 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance on first reading as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER}9 <br />ENTITLED "TRAFFIC" ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES , <br />BY ADDING A NEl>' SECTION NUMBERED 29-119 ENTITLED "PROHIBITED LEFT <br />TURNS". <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance on first readdng. <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an accompanying Ordinance as follows; <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 <br />ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAPFIC CONTROL DEVICES", <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY ADDING A <br />NEl>' SECTION NUMBERED 29-120 AND ENTITLED "DESIGNATION OF RIGHT TURNS <br />ONLY". <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Both Ordinances amending <br />Chapter 29 relate to traffic from a private street entering Colorado <br />Street at its intersection with Guadalupe Street. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 <br />ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES", OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY ADDING A NEW <br />SECTION NUMBERED 29-118, ENTITLED "DESIGNATION OF NO PARKING AREAS <br />WITHIN THE CITY". <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance an first reading which designates <br />a no-parking area on North Street between Burleson and Hutchison streets. <br />Dr, Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved approval of the authorization for the City Manager to <br />expend monies from Revenue Sharing funds originally designated for <br />ambulance service and from the contingency fund for one-half the cost of <br />an ambulance for Hays Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved confirmation of Joe Terry Parks, Rosalio Tobias and <br />Rex Reddell as members of the Civil Service Board. Mr. Hansen seconded <br />the motion, which;passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved approval of the authorization for the City Manager to <br />expend $2,900.00 from the contingency fund for the opening up of a dammed <br />portion of the San Marcos River. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion. On <br />roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen <br />NAY: Sutton. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY A <br />CONTRACT WITH THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL <br />DISTRICT PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND USE OF <br />THE BASEBALL FIELD TO BE SITUATED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion. I <br />At the request of Mr. Flores, Mr. Baugh reported that water will be provided <br />to the site by the City and will be metered so that the party providing <br />the maintenance of the field can pay for the water as a part of the maintenance <br />costs. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Sutton, the Council recessed at <br />9:20 p.m. to Executive Session in the City Attorney's office to discuss the <br />pending litigation with regard to the dismissal of certain members of the <br />Fire Department. <br />
