75 regular meeting, october 30, 1974 page four The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance on first reading as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER}9 ENTITLED "TRAFFIC" ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES , BY ADDING A NEl>' SECTION NUMBERED 29-119 ENTITLED "PROHIBITED LEFT TURNS". Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance on first readdng. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an accompanying Ordinance as follows; AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAPFIC CONTROL DEVICES", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY ADDING A NEl>' SECTION NUMBERED 29-120 AND ENTITLED "DESIGNATION OF RIGHT TURNS ONLY". I Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Both Ordinances amending Chapter 29 relate to traffic from a private street entering Colorado Street at its intersection with Guadalupe Street. The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", ARTICLE V ENTITLED "TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY ADDING A NEW SECTION NUMBERED 29-118, ENTITLED "DESIGNATION OF NO PARKING AREAS WITHIN THE CITY". Mr. Sutton moved approval of the Ordinance an first reading which designates a no-parking area on North Street between Burleson and Hutchison streets. Dr, Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Hansen moved approval of the authorization for the City Manager to expend monies from Revenue Sharing funds originally designated for ambulance service and from the contingency fund for one-half the cost of an ambulance for Hays Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. I Mr. Sutton moved confirmation of Joe Terry Parks, Rosalio Tobias and Rex Reddell as members of the Civil Service Board. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which;passed unanimously. Mr. Breihan moved approval of the authorization for the City Manager to expend $2,900.00 from the contingency fund for the opening up of a dammed portion of the San Marcos River. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Breihan, Cunningham, Dibrell, Craddock, Flores, Hansen NAY: Sutton. Mayor Craddock read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY A CONTRACT WITH THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND USE OF THE BASEBALL FIELD TO BE SITUATED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY. Mr. Breihan moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion. I At the request of Mr. Flores, Mr. Baugh reported that water will be provided to the site by the City and will be metered so that the party providing the maintenance of the field can pay for the water as a part of the maintenance costs. The motion passed unanimously. On motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Sutton, the Council recessed at 9:20 p.m. to Executive Session in the City Attorney's office to discuss the pending litigation with regard to the dismissal of certain members of the Fire Department.
