<br />36 <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, MAY 19, 1975 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Emmie Craddock <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Counc ilmen <br /> <br />Frank T. Arredondo <br />Ted Breihan <br />Bill Dibrell <br />Luciano H. Flores <br />John Hansen <br />Kenneth E. Sutton <br /> <br />City Manager James B. Baugh <br />City Secretary Doriss Hambrick <br />Director, Public Works William T. Friedrich <br /> <br />Also present: Jerri Martin; Melissa Millecam; Terry Roberts; Frank Pennington; <br />Anne Craddock; Mrs. Luciano Flores; Gene Phillips; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 R.M. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 12, 1975, were approved on motion of <br />Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. Sutton. <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Flores and second of Mr. Hansen, the Executive Session called <br />to discuss proposed initiation of litigation and property acquisition, were <br />deferred until such time as the City Attorney, absent from the meeting due to <br />illness, could be present to discuss the matters with Council. The motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in <br />the zoning of the south half of Lot 1, 'Block 8, Lindsey and Harvey Addition <br />from "D" to "M". Dr. James H. Tidwell, applicant, was present to request the <br />change. Mr. A.H. Dawson, a property owner within 300 feet of the proposed change, <br />came before the Council to object to the change in zoning. The hearing was <br />closed and Mayor Craddock read the caption of the ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, <br />DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF THE SOUTH ONE- <br />HALF OF LOT 1, BLOCK 8 OF THE LINDSEY AND HARVEY ADDITION, LOCATED <br />AT THE CORNER OF BURLESON AND MOORE STREETS, FROM "D" (MULTIFAMILY) TO <br />"M" (MIXED). <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the vote was recorded as follows: <br /> <br />AYE: Breihan, Dibrell <br />NAY: Arredondo, Craddock, Flores, Hansen, Sutton. <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion failed and the Ordinance not approved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a Resolution (attached and made a part of these minutes) <br />regarding opening ceremonies for Rio Vista Swimming Pool. Mr. Hansen moved approval <br />of the Resolution. Mr. Arredondo seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved a Special Meeting be called for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, <br />1975, to be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall to canvass the returns of <br />an Election to be held May 20, 1975. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which was <br />unanimously approved. <br />
