The lIIayor announced that the ordinance had been finally passed. The ORDINANCE is as rollows: I AN ORDINANCE AUDITING AND ALLOWING CLAIM FOR INDEBTEDNESS INCURRED IN CONSTRUCTING EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE WATERWORKS SYSTEIII AND THE SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF SAN I>ffi.RCOS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE DELIVERY OF CITY OF SAN /lIARCOS'WATERWORKS AND SEWER IMPROVENENT.WARRANTS, SERIES OF 1954, TO EVIDENCE SAID INDEBTEDNESS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the CityCouncll of the City of San /lIarcos, Texas, has heretofore by ordinance duly and legally passed on the. 15th day of September, 1954, authorized the issuance of CITY OF SAN MARCOS WATERvlORKS AND 'SEWER IIIIPROVENENT WARRANTS, SERIES OF 1954, I dated September 1, 1954, Numbered 1 to 35, inclusive, in the denomination of $1,000 each, aggregating $35,000.00, bearing 3-1/2% interest per annum, and maturing on September 1st, $2,000 in each of the years 1967 to 1970, inclusive, $3,000 in 1971, $5,000 in each of the years 1972 and 1973, and $i4,dOO in 1974; which ordinance is of record in Book 18, page 22, et seq., of the lIIinutes of said City Council; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos has heretofore, for and on behalf of the said City, entered into a certain contract with John Meents Construction Company of San Antonio, Texas, for the construction of certain extensions and improvements to the waterworks system and the sewer system of said City, said contract being dated September 16, 1954; and WHEREAS, said Contractor has presented its claim in the amount of $15,883.72 for services rendered in connection with the construction of such extensions and improvements to the I waterworks system and the sewer system of said City, in accor~ dance with said contract between said City and said Contractor dated September 16, 1954; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that said Contractor is now entitled to such amount under said contract; and, J
