<br />~l!:!.Q1:!;~ <br /> <br />OF THE JOINT AIRPORT ZONING BOARD OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS AND THE COUNTY OF HAYS, TEXAS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On November 4, 1954, at 4:00 o'clock p, M., representatives <br />appointed by the City of San Marcos, Harold G. Smith and C. M. <br />Allen, and representatives appointed by the Commissioner's Court <br />of Hays County, Texas, Eugene Posey and Arthur Schmeltekopf, to <br />the Joint Airport Zoning Board of the said City of San Marcos, <br />Hays County, Texas, met in a special meeting at the office of the <br />County Judge in the court house in San Marcos, Texas, for the pur- <br />pose of organization and transaction of business. <br /> <br />Upon a vote of a majority of the representatives or members <br />of the Joint Airport Zoning Board , Charles Young, of Kyle, Texas, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />was elected a chairman of such board. The meeting was then called <br />to order by Chairman Young. <br />Lt, David R. Howard, Installation Engineer, from the Gary Air <br />Force Base, and Terry L. Jacks, Special Attorney for the City of <br />San Marcos. appeared before the board and requested that the board <br />give consideration to the problem of airport hazards in Hays County <br />in the vicinity of Gary Air Force Base, Clear Springs Field and the <br />San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />Thereupon the board appointed an Airport Zoning Commission, <br />composed of Arthur Schmeltekopf and Harold G. Smith to recommend <br />the boundaries of the various zones to be established and the re- <br /> <br />gulations to be adopted therefore, and further directed the commission <br />to make a preliminary report and conduct public hearings on November <br />30, 1954, between the hours of 10 o'clock A. M. and 11 o'clock A. M. <br />in the office of the County Judge of Hays County, Texas. After such <br />public hearing the commission was directed to make a final report to <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />the Joint Airport Zoning Board which was to be in session at said date. <br />The board further authorized Terry L. Jacks to make further <br />arrangements and give notices of such hearing as prOVided by law. <br />Upon motion duly made and seconded it was unanimOUSly the vote <br />
