IMPROVEMENT REFUNDING BOND, SERIES OF 1955 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That .the City of San Marcos, in the County. of Hays, State of Texas, a municipal corporation duly incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas, FOR VALUE RECEIVED, hereby promises to pay to the bearer on the 1st day of March, 19_, the sumof ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($l,OOO.OO), in lawful money of the United States of America, with interest thereon from date hereof at the rate of three and one- half (3-1/2%) per cent per annum, payable March 1, 1956, and semi- annually thereafter on September 1st and March 1st in each year, as evidenced by coupons hereto attached, until the principal sum is paid. BOTH PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST of this bond are payable at the First National Bank, San Marcos, Texas, without exchange or collec- tion charges to the owner or holder, upon the presentation and surrender of bond or proper coupon, and the City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby held and firmly bound, and its faith and credit and all real and personal property in said City are hereby pledged for the prompt payment of the principal of this bond and the in- terest thereon at maturity. THIS BOND is one of a series of thirty-one (31) bonds, numbered consecutively from One (1) to Thirty-one (31), inclusive, in the denomination of One Thousand ($l,OOO.OQ) Dollars each, aggregating Thirty-one Tho1,.lsand .( $31,000.00 ) Dollars _, issued for the purpose of refunding, canceling and in lieu of a like par amount of valid and subsisting outstanding indebtedness of said
