<br />111 /;J-.; <br /> <br />his men are having to work extra long hours. He stated that another <br />policeman was badly needed. Alderman De Viney made a motion that Mr. All- <br />bright be' authorized to hire anothe r policeman when one could be found. <br />Alderman Beecroft seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted <br />unanimously in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />o <br />r.Jj <br />"- <br />"'- <br />:-J: <br />~ <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee stated that Mr. Neatherford had talked to him recently <br />saying that the City had promised to put a sewer line to his. property when <br />tlce Weatherford Addition was annexed into the.City Limits. A sewer line - <br />to his houses would cost appr6ximately ~~1,lOO.o6. Mr. Barbee stated that, <br />after a search of the minutes, no record was found on an agreement concern- <br />ing a s ewer line. The minutes showed that Jfr. ':ieatherford and a few other <br />property owners had stated that, if water facilities were made available <br />to them, 'they would agree to the annexation of the Weatherford Addition to <br />the City. AldeI'rnan Hill su,c;gested that Mr. Weatherford be g:i,velf this <br />information. No further action was taken. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Dietterich signed a notice to bidders on approximately <br />9,000 feet of curb and gutter to be 'ouil t on 30uth Aust in and Mill <br />streets. The Council agreed to meeton May 27, 1955. to accept bids. <br />The notice follows these minutes. <br /> <br />There was a short disc~ssion on the Park Fund. <br /> <br />Alderman De Viney ma de a motion that an agreemen t be made wi th <br />Prank 'j'aylor to handle the readiI).g of the li",;nt me ters at the baseball <br />park. Mr. De Viney stated that someone should be in charge of the lights <br />and be present to turn them on and off at all g8,l1les. ,and to keep a record <br />of the electricity used at each game. He stated that in case Mr. Taylor <br />could not be present at some games. he could appoint someone else to take <br />his place. Alderman Hill s ecanded the mat ion.
