MITCHELL' SECOND ADDITION <br />TO THE .CITY OF SAN MARCOS IN HAYS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, SUBJECT TOTHE <br />RIGHT OF THE CITYTO USE SAID ALU,'Y <br />AS A DRAIN AND AUTHORIZING SAID <br />ALU,'Y TO BE QUIT-CIAIMED TO THE <br />PRESENT OWNERS OF OTHER PORTIONS <br />OF SAID BLOCK" <br /> <br />HERETOFORE, by instrument dated April 18, 1891, <br />recorded in Volume 27, Pages 363-4 of the Deed Records of <br /> <br />Hays County, Texas, John F. McGehee and wife conveyed or <br />dedicated to the City of San Marcos, a certain alley or <br />street out of a portion of Lot One (1) in. Block Nine (9) <br />of the L. W. Mitchell Second Addition to the City of San <br /> <br />Marcos in Hays County, Texas, according to the map or plat <br />of said addition, recorded in Volume "T", Page 393 of the <br />Deed Records of Hays County, Texas, the property so dedi- <br />cated as an alley being described as folloWS: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at the North corner of said Lot No. One <br />on Burleson Street; Thence about S. 45 deg. E. down the line <br />between Farm Lots 15 and 16 about 98 3/4 varas to Belvin <br />Street; Thence S. 45deg. W. with the line of Belvin Street <br />sixteen.and one half feet; Thence N. 45 deg. W. .parallel <br />to the first mentioned line about 98 3/4 varas to Burleson <br />Street; Thence N. 45 deg. E. 16 1/2 feet to the Place of <br />Beginning. <br /> <br />THEREAFTER there was presented to the Governing <br />Body of the' City of San Marcos, a petition signed by;various <br />persons who are the owners and a 11 the. owners and the only <br />owners of all of .Block Nine (9) of said L. W. MitChell Second <br />Addition, petitioning this governing body to vacate said <br />Alley and to convey the city's interest therein to the <br />owner of the adjoining lots, subject to the right on the <br />part of the city to use said alley as a drain to carry water <br />from Burleson Street to lower portions of the City. <br /> <br />- 1 - <br />
