No definite action has been taken. <br /> <br />Jl. PrcUminary Plat of the Glendale Addition was presented to the Council by <br />Jesse Dean for approval. It was stated that approximately o:1e year ago, the same plat <br />had been disapproved by the Cou~cil b~cause of the street not jeing 50 feet in width. <br />It was ~ated thet this has been corrected. Alderman Allen made a motion that the <br />pre liminary plat of the Glendale Addition be approved. P.lderman Hill seconded the <br />motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the mati,on. <br />The Plat follows these minutes and is a part hereof. <br /> <br />A Plat of the W. O. Meiners Firt Surburban Addition belonging to Charles <br />ZU:1ker, was presented to the Council by 'N. BOrbee stated that he has been contacted by a representative of the <br />Traf-O-7eria System of El Dorado, Kansas~ who made a proposal to install approximately <br />five Traf-O-Teria Meter Collection Boxes in San ;,,~aICClS on 3 90 dZlY trial basis. <br />If the City decides to buy these boxes, they wil1 cost $19.50 each. By using this <br />system, the Meter PoliceTTWOn writes his ticket making a carbon copy of the ticket on <br />the fact of a small enve lope, Which the violator may use by droppi~g his money <br />into this e!1\!lelope 2nd dropping th~ envelope into one of the Traf-O-Tcria Boxes. <br />These boxes are opened for collection at the end af each day. The represen~ative <br />suggested that we order 2,000 tickets cos~bng 2t each for a 90 day trial. The <br />Council was in unanimous agreement in favor of this plan and authorized W. G. Barbee <br />to contact the representafive concerning the 90 day trial. <br /> <br />Mr. W. G. Barbee presented a letter from John L. Su:tber & Company, Auditors, <br />San Antonio, Texas, containing a proposal to do the City and Utilities yearly audit. <br />In the letter, Mr. "urber stated that his company would audit the books for .the <br />same amount as charged last year, which was $750.00. After a discussion, Alderman <br />Allen made a motion that Mr. John L. Surber's proposal be accepted to do the books <br />for the City of San Marcos Clnd San Marcos Utilities for $750.00. Alderman Hill <br />seconded the motion, A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the <br />motion. <br /> <br />W. G. Barbee reported that the City Council has the authority to appoint the <br />Civil Defense Director for the City. After a short discussion, Alderman Allen made <br />a motion that Emmett Colvin be appointed as Civil Defense Director. Alderman Smith <br />seconded the motion. Barbee told the Council that he had been advised by lsep h T. Stoner of the <br />Stoner Appraisal Company that per foot prices have been established on ~roperty and buildings. <br />They have completed 95% of the work, however, they have run into difficulty in getting <br />the demensions established on the lots where several sectio:1 s of the lot is owned <br />by different persons. Mr. Stoner had stated that he has only two men working now <br />and should be ccmpl~ted within the next two weeks. <br /> <br />Mr. Barbee presented a report on the standing of the Utilities General Fund at the <br />end of the fiscal year, 1956, a copy of which follows these minutes. <br /> <br />The City Council then canvassed the election returns of the City Election for <br />City Alderman held April 3, 1956.
