Mr. Brown moved to accept the
bid of Chuck Nash Chevrolet to buy the chassis and Industrial Disposal
Supply to buy the compaction loader and Mr. James seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously. The Council accepted these bids on the re-
commendation of Ramiro Lugo, Sanitation Superintendent.

Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration the award of bid on a truck-
mounted aerial bucket. It will be used in repairing city lights.
Mrs. Norris moved to accept the bid of Commercial Body Corporation
and Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration the proposal presented by
Daniel Brown, Assistant for Public Works, for a Laboratory Techni-
cian for Water and Wastewater Department. Mr. Brown moved to accept
the proposal and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unani-
mously. Mrs. Norris and the other Council Members commended the As-
sistant of Public Works for the comprehensive report.

Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration the vacancies on the Fair
Housing Commission, the Airport Commission and the Environmental
Advisory Board. The only nomination submitted was for the Airport
Com~ssion. Mr. Cavazos moved to place the name of Bill Taylor for
Airport Commission and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed
unanimously. The Council directed that other vacancies be placed on
the Agenda for the April 27, 1981 meeting.

Mrs. Stokes introduced for consideration the authorization of payment
of claim made by Mary Anne Hood. Ms. Hood has been assessed for city
taxes for tax years beginning in 1974 and was not annexed by the City
until October, 1980. City Attorney Barbara Jean Edwards stated the
City legally owes Ms. Hood $4,314.24. Mrs. Norris moved to authorize
payment and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Payment was directed to be made from the COntingency Fund.

Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration the request from Thermon, Inc,
regarding utility and street extension and a petition for annexation
from Thermon, Inc. Mr. Stokes pointed out that according to Joe Garza's
memorandum, Mr. Terry Lighthouse (a representative of Thermon) had agreed
to the requirements of the City for street designing criteria. Mr. Stokes
said the Chair would entertain a motion to have the Staff proceed with
annexation with the understanding that upon annexation Thermon Industries
would be afforded the right to extend utilities in accordance with the
City's existing policies. City Manager Gonzalez pointed out it was
Thermon's wish to get approval of the extension of utilities now, so
that they could begin the process of construction of utilities, and
that Thermon had already submitted themselves by way of petition, and
at this point it was just a formality. Mr. Cavazos moved that the City
Council authorize the Staff to let Thermon extend utilities in accordance
with existing policies and Mr. Tarbutton seconded the motion, which
passed unanimously. Mr. Stokes directed that the Staff set up at the
next meeting to be held April 27, 1981, a public hearing for the annexa-
tion of the property in question.

Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a proposed report for annexation
of 6.178 acres out of the J.
