Barbee reported to the C01illcil that in his opinion a Latin- American girl should be employed to work in the Utili ties Department, as there are many occassions when someone is needed who can speak spanish. Will campbellrs work on the highway right-of-way and the agreement under Which he will work. Alderman nillburn mac.e a "lOtion that the Council authorize Ernest Morgan, city Attorney, to draw a contract allowing J. Will Campbell a 90 (ninety) day grace period extending after his regular 60-day working period, during which he will continue to draw a bonus on purchases completed, even though condemnation suit may have been filed, provided, however, that he will not be paid any bonus in any case in which the condemnation suit progresses to the point of going before the commission appointed by the county Judge. Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote ~las taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. I It was also stated that Mr. campbell needs a certain person or group of persons to contact for a definite decisions pertaining to deviations in buying procedures, such as salvage, leases, etc. Alderman Hillburn made a motion that S. R. ~eecroft, Sam Bowers, and Sidney Williams be appointed to serve on the committee to be cmtacted by Mr. campbell for decisions inthe above circumstances. Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote was taken which resulted unanimously in favor of the motion. There was a short discussion concerning the sewer plant and lift station, however, no action was taken.
