Barbee reported to the C01illcil that in his opinion a Latin- <br />American girl should be employed to work in the Utili ties Department, <br />as there are many occassions when someone is needed who can speak <br />spanish. Will campbellrs work on the <br />highway right-of-way and the agreement under Which he will work. <br />Alderman nillburn mac.e a "lOtion that the Council authorize Ernest <br />Morgan, city Attorney, to draw a contract allowing J. Will Campbell <br />a 90 (ninety) day grace period extending after his regular 60-day <br />working period, during which he will continue to draw a bonus on <br />purchases completed, even though condemnation suit may have been <br />filed, provided, however, that he will not be paid any bonus in <br />any case in which the condemnation suit progresses to the point <br />of going before the commission appointed by the county Judge. <br />Alderman Korff seconded the motion. A vote ~las taken which resulted <br />unanimously in favor of the motion. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />It was also stated that Mr. campbell needs a certain person or <br />group of persons to contact for a definite decisions pertaining to <br />deviations in buying procedures, such as salvage, leases, etc. <br />Alderman Hillburn made a motion that S. R. ~eecroft, Sam Bowers, <br />and Sidney Williams be appointed to serve on the committee to be <br />cmtacted by Mr. campbell for decisions inthe above circumstances. <br />Alderman Korff seconded the motion.
